Commercial Grain Bin Features

Build Strength

  • Superior commercial bins are built with Grade 55 steel for high strength and coated with G-90 galvanization for corrosion resistance.
  • All bins use 3/8-inch sidewall bolts and JS500 Grade 8.2 bolts, which are seven times more corrosion-resistant than standard bolts.
  • Superior’s laminated stiffeners are roll formed for a perfect fit.
  • Each bin includes a pre-rolled base angle with a foam gasket to seal out moisture and comes with a lifetime bottom ring warranty.

Structured Roof

  • Superior commercial structured roofs are built to support a peak ring load of up to 50,000 pounds.
  • Rigidized 3-1/2-inch roof ribs lock into a wind ring for added strength, and corrugated flat panels with drip edges enhance durability.
  • Moisture is kept out by UV-resistant roof vents with raised ridges, while a continuous eave angle evenly distributes roof load.
  • Wind rings and triple-break peak rings ensure structural integrity and reliable weather protection.
Roof Options

Exterior Access

  • Bin stairs provide secure access to the bin’s eave. Galvanized stairways with adjustable treads will stand up to the elements and ensure safety for years.
  • A 34-by-60-inch platform, the largest in the industry, comes standard with stair packages.
  • Optional peak walk-around platforms add security and provide ample room for performing service. 
  • A roof ladder is standard on all Superior bins. For additional safety, an optional roof ladder handrail is available.
  • Superior commercial bin doors feature a heavy-duty, bolted construction for strength and reliability.

Herculok Floors

  • Superior’s Herculok floors use an interlocking design with locking tabs and are formed without removing steel for added strength.
  • Herculok Z-support features multiple deep rib supports for increased strength and stability.
  • Heavy-duty floors are available on Superior Commercial Bins up to 75′ diameter, with a maximum eave height of 66′.
  • Optional welded support available for higher grain depths and in-floor aeration trough.
Herculok Floors

Unload & Power Sweep Systems

  • Superior’s 11-inch U-trough unloads up to 6,000 bushels per hour without damaging grain.
  • Hinged discharge covers latch open for use and closed for protection.
  • Rack-and-pinion gates with roller bearings allow easy sump operation.
  • An independent next-to-center sump provides a backup if the center sump plugs.
  • Double flighting increases unload capacity, and a 16:1 gear reduction drives the sweep through grain efficiently.
