Forklift Operator/Material Handler Job Description 

Typical schedule is Monday-Thursday 7 am – 5:30 pm (Busy season will include Fridays)

The Forklift Operator/Material Handler is responsible for maintaining inventory in an assigned department by loading and unloading pallets of metal products with a forklift.

Essential Job Functions

• Efficiently and accurately load and unload of products and supplies operating a forklift
• Ensure the proper and safe loading and unloading of products for easy accessibility
• Inspect forklifts and other equipment to ensure its in safe working condition
• Operate forklift safely and according to the safe operating procedures
• Assist with maintaining an organized and clean warehouse
• Proper packing, labeling, and tagging of the inventory
• Conducting cycle counts of inventory

Qualifications

• 2 years of forklift operation experience preferred
• Ability to multi-task, handle multiple priorities and work in a repetitive and fast-paced environment
• Ability to work outdoors routinely
