Machine Operator Job Description

Typical schedule is Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Busy season may include Fridays)

The Machine Operator is responsible for the daily setup and operation of fabricating machinery at our Beresford, SD plant.

Essential Job Functions

• Set up and operate fabrication machines (e.g. Stamtec, Floor machine, etc.) for routine work 
• Load, install and correctly set up the tools required
• Safely load sheet metal into machine, unload fabricated product and stack safely and securely
• Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using square, ruler and measuring tape
• Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues
• Operate hand & power tools, forklift and other equipment as required to complete projects

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Fabrication/machine operating background a plus
• Competent at basic dimensional measuring and math

Physical Demands

• Routinely walking, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, reaching, and handling
• Working near moving mechanical parts; near noise routinely, and exposed to outdoor elements
